What is paracord?

Paracord, short for parachute cord, is a cord that was first used by American paratroopers during World War II. The paracord we use is made from only nylon while many cheaper alternatives also use polyester. We only use American made paracord that has been rated to hold up to 550 lbs of pressure.

Can I use the paracord in case of emergency?

Yes you can! In case of an emergency, you have the ability to untie your paracord product and get several feet of useful paracord, depending on the product. However, most of the paracord for the bracelets and keychains had its inner strand removed. As such, the paracord will not support 550 lbs of pressure, but the rating would instead be closer to approximately 300 lbs. Depending on size, a pet collar will yield anywhere from 20 to 30 feet of 550 paracord, a bracelet will yield approximately 8-10 feet of 300 paracord, and the keychains will yield slightly less than 5 feet of 300 paracord.

Can I return or exchange a product?

Absolutely! You may return or exchange your product within 60 days of receiving your order as long as the product show no signs of use. Please email us at contact@americanparacordcompany.com and we will be more than happy to assist! Please note that the customer is responsible for shipping in event of a return. In the event of an exchange, the customer is responsible for shipping back to us while we will cover shipping back to customer.

How do I know what size to order?

Each product page offers guidelines on how to determine what size to order. For bracelets, please measure your wrist and select the corresponding size (in inches). For pet collars, please measure the circumference of your pet’s neck and select the corresponding size (in inches). We recommend to size up if in between two sizes.

Is it possible to place a custom/bulk order?

How do I clean my paracord product?

All paracord products can be hand washed with liquid dish soap. Alternatively, they may be cleaned in a laundry machine but should then be put in a laundry bag for best results. Please air dry the products.

Do you ship to outside the United States?

Do you offer discounts for active duty service members or veterans?
